Youth and life in the Alps

The Alps are an exceptionally grand mountain range that stretches across eight countries: Austria, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Germany, Slovenia, and Switzerland. The challenges that the Alps face are often of a transboundary nature, so they are best addressed through collaboration. Taking this into account, the Alpine countries, together with the European Union, have established the Alpine Convention to address these challenges collectively. The Alpine Convention paves the way for sustainable living in the Alps and is a pioneer in its kind, being the first international treaty with the goals of sustainable development and protection of the entire mountain range. The purpose of the project is to raise awareness and encourage young people to protect the Alpine environment in which we live.
